Master Key Plus - Examples

Generating a Quick keying chart (IC) for Customer supplied keys.

If a customer supplies you with a Best-type key, and needs a cylinder keyed to that
specific key, and may not care about the core/master then the following may be a tip for you!
Select one of the Custom Generate, or  Custom Modify systems.
Select the IC system you need.
Enter 1 MK, 1 CK
Enter the Core Key, the Master Key (make them the same, or create something)
Proceed to generate.

Select the Display Option.
Press alt-C, this will allow you to modify the computer generated change key
Press alt-M, this will allow you to modify the master keys if necessary.
The altered keys will immediately affect the keying chart on screen.

.....there you have it - a quick keying chart

This following method of altering keys after generation is extremely helpful in some special situations, but you must be careful, since this is done after generation, and the computer does not re-check your modified changes!

Grand Master/Janitorial Master & Change Keys with Option to Lock-out Janitorial

If you would like to generate a system with the following topology, and would like to
be able to lock out the Janitorial key, then this is the Tip for you.

A (GMK)
|
AA (Janitorial)
|
AA1-50

Select one of the Custom Generate, Custom Modify systems.
Select the MFG you need. (Schlage for this example)
Enter 1 GMK, 1 MK, and # of change keys needed, 50 in this example.
Enter the Master Key (05228 for this example)
Proceed to generate.

Select the Display Option.
Press alt-M, this will allow you to modify the master keys if necessary.
Modify the AA (or Janitorial) key to be 85228 The altered keys will immediately affect the keying chart on screen.

.....there you have it - the system displays 2 master wafers in the first chamber.
The first wafer allows the change key to work, and the second allows the Janitorial
Key to work, or leave it out and you Lock-out the Janitorial Master!.

Number Sequence / Ordering

Select options within the generation screen by pressing F2. Select Number Order from the drop down menu. From the visible window the computer generated order may be changed by typing in the new sequence per cylinder position. The limitation here is that each position must contain the same numbers originally found in the specific chamber, but you may rearrange the order. If you need more options in a particular chamber select stepping factor, and modify it per cylinder position to see the effect on Number Order. This option is not a requirement, since the computer will generate the order for you, but is an option for experienced system designers.

Chamber Order

Select options within the generation screen by pressing F2. Select Vary/Hold Detail from the drop down menu. You may specify the order of each level of Master Key, as well as change key. This is very detailed, and requires advanced knowledge of system generation. You may wish to press F1 once in this screen to obtain more information. This option is not a requirement, since the computer will generate the order for you, but is an option for experienced system designers.

I need a 5 level system, and the program keeps giving an error!

What seems to be wrong here?

System Mfg: Schlage 6 pin

Requested System Number of chambers required per user request These are other valid entries
GGGM : 1 None Top Master 1 1 1
GGM: 2 1 Chamber max of 4 available 4 4 4
GM: 5 2 Chambers max of 16 available 4 16 4
MK: 9 2 Chamber max of 16 available 4 4 16
CK: 30 3 Chambers max of 64 available 64 16 16

The above requires a 7 pin Schlage key to be created! A 7 pin system is obviously not available... so lets look at the options.

Reduce Master or Change Keys to generate system?

What seems to be wrong here?

A customer requested 1 bldg master, 20 floor master, and 200 usable keys per floor, but the system will not generate my request.

System Mfg: Schlage 6 pin, or Sargent

Requested System Number of chambers required per user request These are other valid entries, that might work.
GM : 1 None Top Master 1 1
MK: 20 3 Chambers needed 16  (2 Chambers) 64  (3 Chambers)
CK: 200 4 Chambers needed 256 (4 chambers) 64 (3 Chambers)

The above requires a 7 pin Schlage key to be created! A 7 pin system is obviously not available... so lets look at the options.
