Stepping Factor
(F2) - Options (Press within System Input Screen)

A basic understanding of the following concepts is assumed. If further information is needed one might consider reading a detailed account of these principles in a layman's guide to master-keying.

Stepping may be designated per cylinder position. The default on the main generation screen is for all cylinder positions. In some cases the designer may wish to have certain positions with different steps. A SF:2 is the most common, but in some situations greater security is required - or cylinder wear prevents the use of smaller master pins.

For example:
SF: 13221 SF: 33333
A: 02520 A: 02520
A1: 15101 A1: 35220
A2: 25101 A2: 65220
A3: 35101 A3: 95220
.
.
Ax: 18101
Ay: 28101
etc...
